Local turf care

Armstrong Park’s Trusted Lawn Care Team

Armstrong Park's established residential lots benefit from the same recurring schedule Spencer's runs citywide — a lawn maintained on a consistent weekly schedule stays ahead of growth instead of getting caught up all at once.

What Armstrong Park Lawns Are Up Against

Settled soil, steady turf

Armstrong Park's older lots have had decades to settle, which means fewer surprises underground and a lawn that responds predictably to a consistent mowing and feeding routine.

Consistency beats intensity

A lawn on a fixed weekly route rarely needs a rescue visit — it's the skipped or irregular cuts that let growth get ahead and turn a routine mow into cleanup work.

Edges hold the look together

On established streets like these, crisp edging along driveways and walks does more for curb appeal than the mow itself — it's what neighbors actually notice.

Timing matters

Getting the Timing Right in Armstrong Park

Spring: wake it up slow

First mows come in high to let the root system shake off winter before any feeding starts — rushing this stage just feeds early weeds.

Summer: hold the height

A taller summer cut protects the crown from Gaston County's mid-summer heat and keeps an established lawn from thinning out under stress.

Fall: the payoff season

Early fall aeration and overseeding on a mature lawn like this fills in the thin patches that summer heat always seems to find.

Winter: quiet maintenance

Dormant-season cleanup and a final feeding set an established lawn up to green back up fast come spring, without a scramble in April.

We couldn’t be happier with the incredible work done by Spence and the crew! From the very first consultation, the entire process was professional, efficient, and stress-free. They truly addressed our needs, offered expert suggestions, and kept our yards in tip-top shape. We have used them at our home and rental properties and are always impressed with the excellent work they do. Not only are they great at landscaping, but their website, scheduling updates, and communication are above and beyond other companies we have worked with in the past. In the yard, the attention to detail, quality of workmanship, and care taken with every aspect of their work really stood out. Our yard has completely transformed — it’s beautiful, functional, and getting so many compliments! If you’re looking for someone reliable, skilled, and passionate about what they do, I highly recommend them. We will absolutely be using their services again!

Folks Spencer’s Lawn service has been the best service I’ve invested in. Two years ago, I spent a lot of money to have a Tall Fescue lawn sown in. Last year, I tried treating the yard myself and killed the lawn I spent a lot of money on. Spencer’s Lawn service came in and saved what I destroyed and the grass has come back and is beautiful now along with weed free. After a couple more years of their service, my lawn will be the best in the neighborhood thanks to Spencer’s.

The lawn is really looking great! There had been some cable/water installation on in the neighborhood that messed up the front of the yard and it was really looking straggly and weedy. In just 2 years Spencer's Lawncare has got it looking fantastic.
